New Challenges

I have decided that 2007 will be a year when I do something a little different. For around five years I have only flown G-HALC a 1972 Piper Arrow II so I have now joined a company that hires out more modern aircraft with the very latest avionics. I'm still based at Barton though.

In addition to learning new avionics I now fly a brand new Cessna 172SP with a Garmin 1000 glass cockpit and a Piper Archer with a Garmin GNS530 gps and HSI. Both these aircraft have autopilots which I had not been used to previously. As well as these new experiences, I decided to revalidate my IMC rating which allows me to fly in more challenging weather than the basic private licence allows.

I still own my share in the Arrow but until I have mastered these new challenges I do not anticipate flying it as much as usual. Details of my checkout flights in the new aircraft will follow along with how I'm doing with my IMC rating revalidation.
